Giovanny (Gio) was born  in the US to Colombian parents in the neighborhood of Corona in Queens, New York. His parents  divorced when he was still very young, and thus he grew up between Queens, New York and Oakland, California. He grew up in a large, multicultural family whose members live across the Americas and Europe. Giovanny is trilingual and speaks English, Spanish and French fluently.

Gio studied Fine Art:Computer Graphics at the New York Institute of Technology. Gio discovered his passion for animation nearing graduation, which led him to earn a  master’s degree in Animation at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
